Our Independent Practice of the Year 2022 Win
We are so excited to announce that Donovan Smith won the Independent Practice of the Year award at the SightCare Conference 2022! The annual conference celebrates and recognises the outstanding work of Independent Optician Practices in and around the UK. About the SightCare Conference
The SightCare Conference is the largest free-to-attend event in the independent optical sector. With a selection of keynote speakers and interactive workshops, it’s a fantastic day for optometrists and their teams to network and share their knowledge with like-minded businesses and individuals.
Alongside the event are the SightCare awards. These awards are all about shining a spotlight on those who’ve been working hard to provide high-quality services to their patients, stock an impressive range of eyewear and much more. To determine the winner from a selection of worthy nominees, the judges evaluate everything from the practice premises and high-tech equipment to testimonials from patients and relationships they have developed with other eyecare professionals, ophthalmologists and general practitioners.
Winning the award
Our team attended the national conference, where we were first informed of our nomination. It’s a moment of pride for the entire team to receive the recognition they deserve after years of hard work and dedication. The SightCare ceremony took place on a Sunday, which our three directors, Carol, Robert and Molly, attended alongside our practice manager, Helen. The team held their breath as the award was being read out, and when they announced us as the winner, we were filled with excitement. It was a moment of elation and joy. The team proudly walked up to the stage to receive the award and get clicked for photos.
Not only is this a testament to our hard work over the years in providing only the best care to our patients and the local community, but it was also a great way to celebrate our 60th anniversary! Over the years, we have been able to build an excellent reputation amongst patients and suppliers alike. We work hard to provide exceptional eye care services to patients, which has been reflected in the glowing testimonials and references that led us to our nomination for the award.
We understand the importance of not only forming good relationships with customers but also with other local businesses, opticians, suppliers and more. Not only will this better our patients’ experiences with us, but it will also make us stronger as a business and team, enabling us to provide the right products, skills and knowledge.
