Have you woken up with a red eye? Have you suddenly noticed new floaters and flashes of light in your vision? – Time to contact Donovan Smith Opticians!
The Primary Eye Care Acute Referral Scheme is a local service which allows patients whose GP surgery is within Calderdale or Kirklees, to seek help with sudden, new eye problems.
The PEARS scheme was introduced to help anyone struggling with new symptoms including:
Red Eye
Pain
Foreign Body Sensation
Sudden Vision Loss
Flashes and Floaters
Rather than seeing the GP, patients can attend the practice for a thorough examination (and can opt for retinal scanning should the clinician feel necessary) in order for us to treat the problem. If the problem requires further investigation, we are able to refer directly to the local eye clinic and forward any scans via the online referral portal – this ensures that any serious condition can be seen and treated quickly, and efficiently.
